Balance Your Self
THROUGH THE WISDOM OF AYURVEDA
Welcome to Joyful Ayur, your new HQ for seasonal health and wellness.
Ayur means life in Sanskrit, so Joyful Ayur means Joyful Life. This is what I
wish for all of us. As we restore balance, we restore health, and having
health gives us access to more joy.

As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I work one-on-one with clients to help them address imbalances in their unique mind-body-energy system. I also offer group cleanses and other programs focused on building mindfulness into your every day living.
Ayurveda is a system of holistic medicine developed in ancient India between 3500 and 5000 years ago. It can be translated from Sanskrit to "science of life”: Ayur (Life) + Veda (Science). This sister science of Yoga helps us balance our mind-body-energy systems using natural tried and true methods like diet, herbs, and lifestyle practices, in concert with seasonal changes that occur over the course of the year, and changes that occur in our lives.

Like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda is a five element system - Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether (Space). The unique balance of these elements creates an individual's constitution, or dosha - Kapha, Pitta, Vata, or a combination of these. To honor a person’s bio-individuality and unique dosha, health coaching is provided on a one-to-one basis, though group programs are offered to balance general trends in the seasons and our lives.
Integral to this system of medicine is the belief that what has become imbalanced can become balanced again. I have used Ayurveda personally to develop and maintain a health balance that no longer invites yeast infections, cold sores, dry eye, backache during my menstrual cycle, flashes of anger and irritation, and periods of depression. After being told “There are just some things we have to live with,” I don't believe it anymore.
Following Ayurvedic guidelines, we truly can rejuvenate our unique constitution and restore health to our whole Self.
